Insurance often covers our services
Insurance plans are increasingly offering coverage of naturopathic medicine. This is both insurer and plan dependent. Coverage usually ranges from 70-100% of services. Verification of coverage by calling the phone number on your insurance card is recommended.
While we do request payment at time of services, we take care of the reimbursement paperwork for you. If you have naturopathic coverage, you receive a check for reimbursement directly from your insurer.
Medicare does not recognize naturopathic physicians, so does not cover our services.
For all consultations, payment is expected at time of service.
While insurance may cover naturopathic care, we do not process insurance billing in our office. Instead, you are directly reimbursed by your insurer for costs as agreed upon in your policy. As a service to you, we have created a reimbursement form that we submit to your insurance company. This form is filled out by our staff in our office, then mailed directly to your insurer. Insurance reimbursement will go directly to you. Again, if you do not know if naturopathic medicine is covered, you can call your insurer. We are happy to work with you to ensure maximal reimbursement. As a policy, we refuse to compromise your care to fit insurance expectations. We will, however, do our utmost to get you reimbursed for services provided.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations received less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will incur a $50.00 charge. Please understand that your scheduled appointment is time that can be used by another patient in need if we are given proper notice.
New Patient cancellation/no show policy:
If you are a new patient and either do not show up or cancel within 24 hours, our account policy must be signed before rescheduling. If for some reason you either don't show up or cancel within 24 hours twice, than prepayment is necessary to schedule a third new patient appointment.
Intravenous nutrient services: If there is a cancellation after the nutrients have been prepared (i.e., cancellation the same day as services), then a $50.00 charge is incurred. This is to help to defer some of the cost of the nutrients that have been prepared, which must be discarded.
Laboratory Policy
Laboratory work ordered in our office is often covered by insurance. For our local patients, our provider is PeaceHealth laboratories. Our non-local patients can obtain laboratory work from other sources, depending on location. When using PeaceHealth, your insurance is billed directly at the time of the blood draw. For our patients without insurance, payment for laboratory services are billed to you by the laboratory directly and a cash discount is extended.
Nutritional Supplements
Supplement purchases are separate from fees for services. Payment for supplements is expected at time of purchase. While reimbursement for supplement costs by your insurer is rare, it does happen occasionally. The receipt you receive from our office provides a description of each item with its cost. Discounts for seniors and bulk purchases are also available.
